Dustin Pirie is the founder of ESOP Analytics, a consulting firm dedicated to helping companies navigate the financial complexities of Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs). He established ESOP Analytics with a clear mission: to provide specialized, forward-looking guidance that helps companies manage repurchase obligations, optimize benefit levels, and sustain long-term employee ownership.

With over a decade of experience in the ESOP industry, Dustin is widely recognized for his expertise in repurchase obligation strategy, benefit level modeling, feasibility analysis, and plan design. His approach combines rigorous financial modeling with a practical understanding of how ESOP decisions impact both companies and employee-owners over time.

Previous Experience and Expertise

Prior to founding ESOP Analytics, Dustin served as Director of the Repurchase Consulting Team at Blue Ridge Associates, where he advised ESOP companies nationwide on managing long-term repurchase liabilities. He worked closely with executive teams and boards to implement strategies that balanced cash flow stability, employee benefits, and corporate growth.

Earlier in his career, Dustin was a member of the Financial Analysis Team at Principal, where he specialized in ESOP feasibility studies, repurchase obligation modeling, benefit level analysis, and plan design. In that role, he partnered with companies to design ESOP structures that were financially sustainable and aligned with their long-term strategic objectives.

Education And Accolades

Dustin earned both his MBA and his BBA in Economics from the University of Iowa. His academic foundation in economics, finance, and strategy complements his hands-on experience advising ESOP companies across all stages of growth and maturity.

He is an active member of The ESOP Association and the National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO) and frequently speaks at industry conferences on repurchase obligation planning and long-term ESOP sustainability.
